![]() | After living in Southern California for nearly three decades, Carl George now resides in Taylors (near Greenville), SC, with his wife of 45 years, Grace. They have six children and seven grandchildren. Since 1995, he has been engaged full time in consulting with churches and coaching church leaders who want their churches to grow. Prior to 1995, he spent seventeen years leading the Charles E. Fuller Insititute in Pasadena, CA, which was affiliated with Fuller Theological Seminary. His earlier ministry experience had been in Florida, where he spent fifteen years, first as a youth director and then as founding pastor of a local church and Christian day school. With decades of experience in dealing with leaders in over 100 denominations, his diagnoses and teachings are practical and respect the uniqueness of the ministry situations of those who seek his help. He frequently preaches and teaches on topics such as Overcoming Growth Barriers and Training Leaders and Coaches for Small Groups. He authors books and multi-media learning materials useful to church leaders. His invention of a descriptive organizational x-ray model called the MetaChurch has provided insights used by a generation of consultants and leaders of many large, growing churches. On the personal side, Carl finds refreshiment in supporting his wife's interests: raising small Maltese lap dogs and standard Australian Labradoodle Service Dogs. After twenty-five years of sneezing through the raising of many litters of Golden Retrievers, we find these breeds of family companions to be refreshingly free of shedding and relatively non-allergenic. |
